Dr. Haley Panka, ND
As a registered naturopathic doctor, I believe health can be created by identifying and treating the root cause of dis-ease. I integrate evidence-informed naturopathic medicine with conventional standard of care principles to optimize patient care.
During every appointment, I share my passion for helping people achieve wellness through sustainable lifestyle change. I enjoy educating my patients about the foundations of healthy eating, exercise, stress management, and sleep support. I also assess my patient's risk factors for chronic disease and encourage prevention. If you are looking for a holistic practitioner to walk you through the steps to achieve health, I’m here to help!
Women’s Health + Hormones
I have a special interest in women’s health and hormones. I help many women regulate their menstrual cycle and treat painful, irregular, and heavy periods as well as PMS/PMDD. I offer preconception care and infertility support. I also help women going through their peri-menopausal and menopausal years for symptoms relief of hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and mood irregularities, as well as preventative care focusing on bone support and heart health. Other hormone-related conditions I commonly treat include ovarian cysts, PCOS, acne, endometriosis, hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue, insomnia, and diabetes. I use hormone lab panels to evaluate biomarkers and approach treatment in a tailored way for each individual.
Pediatric Health
As a mother and doctor to many mothers, helping children with naturopathic medicine has become one of my favorite areas of focus. My services complement well-child visits by offering support with nutrition, lifestyle counseling, dietary supplements, and herbal medicines. I see children from all ages, infants up to age 21 years. I help infants and children with skin issues and provide immune support to help prevent recurrent illness. I also help children who have digestive concerns, sleep issues, and mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, attention difficulty, and hyperactivity. I also help teenagers dealing with acne, mental health concerns, and those who are having painful, heavy menstrual periods.
Holistic Diabetes Care
I offer holistic diabetes care by using a combination of lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise counseling with botanical medicine and other dietary supplements to improve blood sugar control and reverse diabetes. Getting my patients healthy enough to need less medication or remove their dependence on medication is a top priority. My approach to diabetes includes weight management, supporting organ function, and reducing insulin resistance. My approach complements standard diabetes care with integrative treatments that are safe to use with insulin and other diabetes medications.
Healthy Aging + Breast Cancer Prevention
Another passion of mine is increasing the vitality of my elderly patients. I provide support for osteoporosis, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and gut health. I provide cancer prevention support for those who have an increased risk of cancer, and supportive care for breast cancer patients and survivors. My experience working in a bone marrow transplant unit and with other oncology-focused naturopathic doctors has led to my passion for providing supportive cancer care and prevention. Optimizing cancer-fighting nutrients in the diet and improving other lifestyle factors are crucial to resilience after surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation and preventing cancer recurrence.
Patient Testimony
“I definitely recommend seeing Dr. Haley Panka. She helped me get off of the Zyrtec I’d been taking for probably the last 20 years. No other doctor had ever suggested my discontinuing it. I’m doing fine without it, so I probably didn’t need it for years! Dr. Panka has given me several suggestions of different vitamins and supplements to take instead of the ones I’d been taking and has also given me several suggestions of things to try eating on the Auto Immune Protocol diet that I follow.
I always learn something after each visit, and it’s so nice to meet with a doctor that actually believes that what you eat really does affect how you feel. I used to see an Endocrinologist who said that what I ate wouldn’t affect anything, but that couldn’t be more wrong. Since I eliminated so many foods that can cause inflammation, my level of pain in my hip joints has decreased about 95%, and I’ve lost weight without even trying. Dr. Panka supports, and encourages me, to keep eating healthy and to do mild exercise.
She also can order blood tests that my regular doctors won’t order, like for a complete thyroid panel. (Some doctors will only want to test TSH, which doesn’t give enough information.) I highly recommend her!”
